The Waterside

Hiding in plain sight, invisible to those who rush past it on their way to and from work is a 16 acre wasteland right in the centre of Belfast. Purchased by London based, Irish property developers Osborne+Co, The Waterside is a rare thing indeed – a place full of history that is about to filled with life, jobs, creative spaces and opportunity.

Faced with the unique opportunity to build a new part of the city from scratch, Fourum supported the placemaking team in articulating and communicating the shared vision of Osborne+Co and the people in the East of the city that live close by. Our work had to excite and communicate potential while also remaining authentic and true to the unique, sensitive history of Belfast.

So we researched, listened and created words and pictures that the people of Belfast could feel at home with and also excited by. This included a suite of moving assets created to match each phase of the project, culminating in a 3D map to show off the city centre location and attract global interest. 

The digital presence of The Waterside was essential. We designed and wrote all the content for a website that could sell the site and the city with equal enthusiasm. Fourum also created a series of brands and suite of presentations to help to sell commercial and residential space to an international audience. Often described as the beating heart of the site, BEON is our brand for the unique selling point of The Waterside, an incubation hub and talent engine for the brightest and best in the city.
